About us

We aim to make people’s most needed and cherished products and services accessible to them- no matter where they are in the world. To achieve this, we identify and build proven web and mobile business models, transfer them to untapped markets and seek to scale them into market-leading companies. We operate in an international network of more than 110 countries across 6 continents, bringing our technological and operational innovation to new markets.

What we value in our employees

Working at Rocket means taking ownership from day one and giving everything for our projects to make a meaningful and sustainable impact. For our businesses to go from zero to launch, we remain focused while being confident. Our colleagues from more than 70 nationalities act as an interconnected team that exchanges across country borders to ensure maximum efficiency. We expect to win with every company we build and every action we take.

About your new role

As a Director of Product, you will be part of a high-impact, carefully-chosen task force of product managers in our Berlin headquarters. You will conceptualize, launch and manage new Rocket products worldwide and set up the product management team and processes for new Rocket startups before permanent founding teams take over full responsibility.

At Rocket, no two days are the same. The following tasks will be part of your new role:

  • Lead product development for a new Rocket venture in the pre-launch phase.
  • Own the overall product vision and development on multiple platforms (web, mobile web, native apps)
  • Research and define the requirements for the business model and the go-to-market strategy
  • Analyze and identify the needs and use cases of all stakeholders, from end users to customer service.
  • Scope and develop the MVP and define the medium-term roadmap in close collaboration with the co-founders.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to ship high quality and performant products.
  • Setup and manage product analytics and KPI reporting.
  • Manage the smooth handover of the product roadmap and knowledge base to the eventual permanent venture team.

To be successful in your new role, you should bring along these skills:

  • You have 4+ years of product management experience in a consumer-oriented, high-performance organization.
  • You have world-class interpersonal and communication skills, leadership experience and command presence.
  • You are an independent, pro-active problem solver and have a hands-on approach to everything you do.
  • You are highly adaptable and thrive in a rapidly-changing, complex environment.
  • You are looking for a big challenge and want to have an impact on a global scale.
  • You have a strong grasp of what constitutes an intuitive UX and product and at the same time, you are highly analytical and make decisions based on user testing and research.
  • You ideally have an entrepreneurial background and are passionate about startups.
  • You have a stellar academic record, preferably with a degree in computer science or a related technical field.

What we offer

In return, Rocket Internet offers you the opportunity to work at an office with colleagues from various international backgrounds, just a step away from the World Heritage-listed Museumsinsel (Museum Island). The access you get to latest technologies, knowledge sharing and training will allow you to develop rapidly during your time at Rocket. To help you get here, we offer an appropriate relocation package and visa support to ensure a smooth start to your next chapter.
