Whilst the media industry is well served with platforms that enable advertisers to retarget customers online using online data this will only ever account for the customers online activities, 30% of their awake time. As the remaining 70% is spent offline in the real world, retailers and brands have limited ability to adapt their advertising messaging and media spend accordingly.

Like Google indexed the web, Unacast is indexing the physical world. Our platform lets brands and retailers easily tap into the rapid growing amount of proximity data from physical behaviour globally. Through our Unacast PROX platform, we send real-time interactions to power physical and digital communication between brands, retailers, and end users. In short, we help create more personalised communication offline and online, reducing noise by increasing relevance.

Position overview

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for our supply of proximity data from Proximity Solution Providers and other partners and ensure Unacast has a strong flow of incoming proximity data we can monetize and build products on. The role will report to the Chief Commercial Officer, and work closely with the demand and product development teams. We´re searching for someone to support the overall business strategy and growth to ensure Unacast keeps our position as the largest proximity network. Specific responsibilities include:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive the process from identifying new supply partners to negotiation and closing
  • Responsible for building Unacast’s deterministic data inventory by creating and managing data partnerships
  • Ensure increased supply of data so that Unacast gets the maximum value from our data sets and use it as a strategic competitive asset
  • Work closely with the product development and engineering teams to secure a continuous and timely launch of products that increase data integration
  • Work closely with the demand side team to make sure data supply is aligned with the demand and that data is available at the right time, format and quality
  • Manage a portfolio of partners to make sure they get increasing value from the partnership, provide a continuous supply of data and renew their agreements
  • Identify synergies among supply partners for potential consolidation and harmonization opportunities to maximize leverage and increase data sharing

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor and Master’s Degree, preferably from an Ivy League institution
  • 5-7 years’ experience preferably within mobile and/or advertising
  • Strategic selling, building inventory/supply partnerships, business development, bringing products to market, driving early revenue
  • Proven success in executing against sales, churn and operational goals and creating short and long-term strategies
  • Experience in building supply strategies from scratch, including managing system implementation, data integration and replication
  • Direct hands-on experience with cradle-to-grave product development
  • Possess excellent technical and persuasive presentation and negotiation skills that couple well with solid software, engineering skills
  • Ability to express a high-level of decisiveness
  • Proven ability to navigate and thrive in a rapidly changing environment and collaborating across geographies, cross-functional boundaries and promote change and innovation

COMPENSATION:

Unacast will offer an attractive base salary augmented by a motivational bonus plan along with stock options with a highly visible role within a fast growing company.
