The Role:
You will own product requirements for GoPro’s cloud media services involving new experiences around access, editing, and sharing photos and videos. The Product Manager will champion product features, functionality, and will lead the product development phases by collaborating with cross-functional teams during the exploration and definition phases. In addition, the position will help identify key feature opportunities for photos and video cloud management, document phases of the product, and manage tradeoffs involving features, schedule, cost, and monetization.
This role will sit onsite in GoPro's San Francisco office.
You Will:
- Lead all photo and video cloud services product definition process: Use Cases, Features, Experience, Business, Compatibility, Transition, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (i.e. UX, Engineering, Program Management) through the complete product development cycle
- Manage tradeoffs involving user experience, features, schedule, cost, and value positioning
- Collaborate with Design, Engineering and Program Management as necessary throughout the various phases of product development
- Work cross-functionally with the platform product managers on camera, mobile, desktop and other future products
- Identify opportunities for improving the customer experience
- Document and communicate all product requirements, manage them with the engineering team through bi-weekly sprints
- Collaborate with the advance technology team to incorporate improved methods of managing photos and videos in the cloud
- Work closely with engineering team to continually improve performance and reduce cost
Our Ideal Candidate Has:
- 3+ years of product management experience in cloud-based media services
- Proven successful record with defining and launching large-scale web-based services
- Experience writing clear and concise product requirements, managing priorities, and dealing with trade-offs
- Understanding of techniques that drive video and image quality
- Demonstrable understanding of the technologies involved in delivering multi-screen video solutions including file formats, protocols and codecs
- Results and deadline driven
- Motivated self-starter and detail oriented
- Passion and dedication to work in a dynamic and exciting team environment
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
