Docker, Inc. is seeking a lead Test Engineer to join forces with Release, Tooling and the overall Engineering org to create and automate all testing internally. At Docker, we believe every engineer is responsible for testing their code. As part of Docker’s Test Engineering team, you’ll work across all of engineering to lead design and implement testing tools and infrastructure to support the entirety of the Docker Ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Docker is utilized in many ways by our customers. You’ll be their representative inside the company and work towards continually improving their experience
- Build testing tools and infrastructure to ensure Docker is massively scalable and battle hardened
- Everything you build will be used by developers in the company and running in all stages of the engineering pipeline
- Optimize how we test our products whether it’s open sourced, commercial or internal infrastructure
Qualifications:
- 8+ years leading the build of test tools, frameworks and infrastructure.
- You always automate your tests. Docker is built by developers for developers. You’ve got a penchant for testing, but are a developer at your core.
- You’re comfortable working full stack. Whether it’s building or debugging one.
- Fluent in either Go, Python, or C (Java/Scala polyglots also welcome).
- You’re a data nut. We love driving decisions with metrics and you should too.
- Start up experience preferred.
- Computer Science degree preferred.
- We trust our colleagues and customers.
- We are self starters who thrive with autonomy, and perceive “chaos” as an opportunity to shine.
- We survive disagreements.
- We are willing and eager to learn from each other.
- We are transparent thinkers and action oriented doers.
- We are passionate about what we work on and take pride in our craft. \
Perks:
- Lunch, dinner, snacks, and bottomless cups of coffee.
- Full benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, 401k).
- WageWorks (Pre-tax parking/transit).
- Customized workstation (Apple, Windows, Linux).
- Company outings (SF Giants, Golden State Warriors, Rafting, etc.).
- Soccer and Basketball team.
- Happy hours, Hackathons, & Tech talks.
Inspired by an active community and by transparent, open source innovation, Docker containers have been downloaded more than 2.4 billion times and Docker is used by millions of developers across thousands of the world’s most innovative organizations, including ADP, Baidu, the BBC, Goldman Sachs, Groupon, ING, Yelp, and Spotify.
Docker’s rapid adoption has catalyzed an active ecosystem, resulting in more than 300,000 “Dockerized” applications, over 100 Docker-related startups and integration partnerships with AWS, Cloud Foundry, Google, IBM, Microsoft, OpenStack, Rackspace, Red Hat and VMware.
