Web Development - Technical Lead

About the Job & Your Role

We're working on a website that captures approx. 25m users annually. You would lead an agile delivery team focused on delivering new customer-facing web-based applications of that site with an emphasis on functional value and usability across devices.

Your most primary responsibility would be to provide leadership in development, testing and implementation of these applications and the broader site. You would have direct input and overall responsibility for technical solution architecture. You would also have direct oversight over day to day working structure and change management processes.

You would need to have both practical experience in this type of role as well as the necessary acumen to manage and develop the skills of others.

In more detail, you would:

  • Lead technical development efforts within an agile team.
  • Collaborate with a product team on product roadmap definition and release planning.
  • Provide architectural design as needed to ensure quality delivery of products using modern technology, open source, and open data standards.
  • Have full stack development experience, able to provide input, instruction, and direction to other members of the team on any number of technical solutions or options.
  • Design, implement and integrate REST-ful APIs
  • Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
  • Collaborate with other developers, product managers, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web- and desktop-based applications.

Base Requirements

  • Years of practical experience and/or extremely strong educational or intern-based background in your skill areas.
  • Able to work in Washington D.C office
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Able to get started in the near future

Positions are available on the General Service (GS) pay scale at the GS-13 through GS-15 grade levels.
