The Consolidated Court Automation Programs (CCAP) is seeking an individual to manage software development projects. CCAP is currently transitioning its large suite of custom-developed court applications to a web-based architecture using Scala and functional programming techniques. The candidate selected for this position will work with a highly skilled team of software developers, database administrators, and business analysts, and will play an important role in helping CCAP to achieve objectives laid out in the Judicial Branch Strategic IT Plan.
LOCATION: Madison, WI
SALARY: Competitive salary based on relevant experience and education and includes a competitive fringe benefits package.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has non-supervisory project management responsibility for one or more of CCAP’s software development teams. The selected candidate will manage processes including analysis, design, programming, quality assurance, and production support for CCAP applications. The selected candidate must demonstrate the experience or potential to plan a software release and to lead cross-functional teams. The Software Development Project Manager must have extensive knowledge of the software development life cycle and project management principles and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: (1) Experience in a lead role within a complex software development environment; (2) Training and/or experience in business analysis and requirements gathering; (3) Training and/or experience in modern web-based application design; (4) Training and/or experience with software quality assurance processes; (5) A work record demonstrating effective planning, and successful project management skills, including the ability to positively affect software development teams to meet project goals and milestones; (6) Well-developed research, analytical and writing skills; (7) Strong speaking and interpersonal skills; (8) Experience that includes a record of successful release management. Preferred: (9) Strong understanding of the business functions and the IT needs of the court system.
