Job Description

The Sr. Network Security Engineer is a security focused network engineer who will build processes and deploy security infrastructure components to help control access and protect company assets. This includes a functional role in access control security, operational security, and compliance. You will also assist with research and development of additional controls to identify misuse of assets, mitigate compromises and perform security troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain configurations for network access control systems

Perform network audits

Implement solutions that arise from internal scans relating to network vulnerabilities

Assist with creating information security policies

Participate in the company’s Incident Response program

Implement solutions for day to day network security activities

Design and build the security infrastructure for multiple projects.

Implement all changes to network security infrastructure in accordance with standard procedures and change control policies and procedures

Assist with audit and compliance efforts

Troubleshoot remote connectivity for large and complex user base.

Assist with design and implement network access authentication solutions.

Qualifications

4-year degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience) required

3+ years’ experience operating as network engineer, preferably focused on security, for a large production operation, an ISP, a large scale web application or a similar environment

Experience interfacing with partner security policies and managing to third party security requirements

Experience building enterprise security compliance policies in a mixed operating system environment

Strong experience with network firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

Proven experience with researching and implementing solutions to solve business problems

Understanding of TCP/IP, network/system intrusion techniques, firewalls and VPNs

Security certifications such as: JNCIA preferred

In-depth knowledge of firewalls: JunOs and Palo Alto experience preferred.

Strong understanding of sniffers and how to read packet traces

Strong understanding of Authentication protocols such as Radius and TACACS

Strong understanding of 802.1x a plus

Experience working with Aruba Security products is a plus

Experience with Python is a plus
