Sr. DevOps Engineer

Disruptor Beam is building a new generation of games for every screen, based on popular universes like Game of Thrones and Star Trek. This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing company, alongside a veteran team, working with some of the most iconic brands in entertainment.

We are seeking a seasoned Sr. DevOps Engineer to lead the establishment of mission critical processes and build out our high-performance DevOps team. As part of the DevOps group, you will help establish strategic direction, including technology reviews, analysis and selection in order to ensure our games have top-tier infrastructure to provide stable and scalable operating environments for production. You will be part of a team maintaining 24x7 production infrastructure and drive incident and problem management processes.

What You’ll Do

• Drive the improvement of our build and deployment processes and tools.
• Identify and resolve project risks and threats before they affect timelines.
• Develop and test disaster recovery scenarios
• Build and manage state-of-the-art monitoring and log analysis tools providing teams with the insights into the health and performance of our servers.
• Work closely with the engineering and product leadership to architect solid technical design and approach to operations in a large-scale data environment to make sure our games run smoothly and efficiently for millions of players around the world.
• Continuously monitor and improve our infrastructure for performance, stability, scalability, and security.
• Manage and contribute to a world class continuous delivery practice for our entire software and data pipeline development including publishing and deployment lifecycle process.
• Monitor the activities of the developers to remove any roadblocks and ensure timely completion of all work tasks.
• Providing 24/7 product support.
• Optimize and control datacenter hosting costs.

What We Seek:

• 5+ years experience in DevOps or similar area.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience building complex, scalable, and high-performance data-centric system software architectures, ideally with MySQL, Aurora, MongoDB, AWS, and other big data/open source technologies.
• Hands-on experience building scalable, multi-tier web infrastructures using technologies such as NGINX and Ruby on Rails. Experience with Scala/Play a plus.
• Proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple products in production, test, performance, and development environments with varying technologies and lifecycles.
• Strong experience with agile software development techniques, developer-driven testing, and highly automated test environments.
• Experience with operating system scripting, programming languages, agile project management practices.
• Demonstrated capability to lead and partner across disciplines to achieve high-impact results.
• Experience managing mission critical production systems with strict SLAs around service availability and data product delivery
