Platform Engineer

Platform engineers are the foundation of our games. Disruptor Beam’s Platform Engineering group owns the distributed, highly available backend which powers our Platform services, as well as the client implementation of those services in our games. The Platform team also builds an ecosystem of full stack libraries and tools to empower Disruptor Beam’s artists, designers, and programmers to create amazing content for iOS, Android and WebGL games.

What You’ll Do

• Create robust long lived, content agnostic systems with abstraction layers that enable maximum cross platform feature fidelity.
• Create clean API’s for internal tools and editors that support developing cutting edge game technology in cinematography, online integration, animation, and AI.
• Contribute to the overall architecture and design of the technology plan of the company and the game titles
• Design, implement and maintain client systems, tools and pipelines to support development on iOS and Android platforms
• Assess and integrate middleware and 3rd party mobile technology solutions
• Review the work of other mobile engineers to ensure adherence to coding and quality standards

What We Seek

• Experienced Developer capable of quickly learning new languages, paradigms and systems.
• Scalable & Distributed Systems Experience
• Strong Database Experience (NoSQL, Relational, Graph)
• Nice to have - NoSQL Database experience (MongoDB a plus)
• Nice to have - Database sharding experience
• Nice to have - Scala/Play Experience
• Nice to have - Ruby/Rails Experience
• Nice to have - Unity/C# Experience
