DevOps Engineer

Located in Westlake Village, CA; VS Media has been in business since 1996 specializing in highly interactive, high-traffic, live video chat websites. Team members constantly face unique challenges that make it fun to come to work every day!

We are an extremely professional company but candidates must be comfortable with the nature of these properties.

In this position, the ideal candidate will assist with the development of tools that will bridge the gap between the development of our core products and the systems on which they run. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• 3+ years of Development as Software Engineer
• Programming in Bash and PHP
• Deep understanding of version control systems (GIT, SVN, etc.), including branching and merging strategies
• Application/System troubleshooting
• Solid understanding of the Linux/ Unix operating system. Linux system administration and configuration tools

Preferred experience:

• Logging/ Monitoring/ Reporting using Splunk, Nagios
• Programming in Java, C++, Go
• Experience with Docker
• Experience with Salt/ Ansible, Puppet/ Che
