We are looking for an IT Support Engineer to provide technical support to Reasoning Mind Employees in an efficient and accurate manner.

Primary duties include technical support of Reasoning Mind Employees in offices and in remote locations. In this role, you will provide maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT Helpdesk. You will be responsible for administration and internal support of the Company's PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations.

Secondary duties include providing technical support to Reasoning Mind staff as well as school IT staff, and researching and resolving various technical issues associated with the use of the Reasoning Mind educational system in schools, a multi-tier online learning application for mathematics that is used by over 100,000 students in classrooms across the US.


What does an IT Support Engineer at Reasoning Mind do?


The IT Support Engineer at Reasoning Mind is responsible for:

  • Providing laptop/desktop support to all employees including those working from remote locations.
  • Support new hire and termination processes and related IT support functions, such as software installations, computer moves and upgrades, coaching the staff on new/existing hardware and software, PC/Mac desktop and laptop maintenance.
  • Planning, maintaining and managing the day-to-day operations of printers, computer and telephone systems.
  • Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user's satisfaction. Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
  • Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
  • Report issues to the System Administrators for escalation
  • Providing technical assistance to Reasoning Mind Implementation Department on any technical issues and questions associated with the use of the system that arise in RM schools and school districts.
  • Communicating with school and district IT personnel to understand problems, organize remote access to problem computers, troubleshoot, identify the root causes of problems, and help resolve problems.
  • Visiting Reasoning Mind schools; inspecting labs, computers, and networks to identify and resolve issues.
  • Organizing communication sessions and getting support from Reasoning Mind IT engineers and software developers to resolve complex problems.


What qualifications do I need?

Required:

  • Associate's Degree in IT or Computers
  • 1 year of experience related to the responsibilities specified above
  • Expert knowledge of MS Windows 7, 8, 10 operating systems
  • Expert knowledge of Mac OS X operating system and in-built applications
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office products with emphasis on Outlook
  • Advanced understanding of personal computer hardware, software and networking
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Industry-related certifications
  • Experience working with Windows Server, Active Directory and Exchange Server
  • Basic Linux server and/or Cisco network devices skills and experience
