Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Manager of Mobile Engineering to lead and help define, design and support our iOS and Android native apps. You will lead a team of talented mobile developers to drive the evolution of our current applications as well as building proofs of concept and next generation products on an agile and highly collaborative team of designers, product managers and engineers. We are looking for an intelligent, hands on leader who gets their hands dirty in the tech and has experience managing mobile software development teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Manages large, critical projects and/or multiple smaller projects. May manage 1.0 releases.

• Builds and influences engineering process and technical strategy.

• Generally manages more than 15 people.

• Coordinates activities of group of technical managers, individual contributors and senior level personnel to meet project deadlines and budgets, and resolves conflicting demands of internal and external customers.

• Manages variety of projects.

• Provides wide-ranging technical and logistical leadership.

• Influences other projects that affect own projects.

• Recruiting, career development efforts primarily for own group.

Qualifications:

Education:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology

• 7-10 Years of proven, progressive technical responsibility

Technologies:

• Proficiency in Computer Science fundamentals – object oriented design, data structures, algorithm - design, problem solving, and complexity analysis

• Strong technical skills, experience developing compiled software and understanding of the mobile apps ecosystem.

• Strong in OOP programming and one of the following programming languages: Java, Objective-¬C or C++.

• Recent experience building and managing consumer mobile applications (iOS and/or Android).

• Understanding of large¬-scale applications (clustering, distributed systems, scalability, caching, performance tuning, etc.).

Software Development Culture & Quality:

• Agile development process

• Pull/code review or paired programming

• Scripted deployments

• Build servers

• Source management with git
