As the #2 US digital mapping provider with 44MM monthly multi-platform users (20MM mobile & tablet users and 5MM cross-platform) we make life easier for our millions of customers by helping them find where they are going and how they are going to get there. Core to our business is our Geocoding team, who is building best-of-breed platforms for our consumer and b2b clients. We are looking for the best, brightest, and most passionate people to guide this mission-critical part of our business.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Use your experience and skills, along with your imagination, to build product roadmaps and define detailed requirements for the development of innovative and practical solutions & products to meet business goals
- Conduct market/competitive research and analysis to understand current market trends; identify “white space” opportunities; and understand technology distributions that could impact the Geocoding product road map
- Partner with a crack engineering team through the full development cycle, from product inception, research, prototyping, and delivery into production
- Collaborate with engineering teams to build a rock-solid, valuable platforms with short time to first Hello, World and great customer experience
- Assist with implementation of MapQuest Programmatic Strategy
- Tracking product progress against the product roadmap and managing the product lifecycle.
QUALIFICATIONS
- KEY: An aptitude for solving problems, a never-say-die attitude, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep love of big, complex backend systems
- The ability to balance the “art and science” by solving problems using quantitative,qualitative, and market demand driven approaches
- Passion for understanding and helping others understand how the MapQuest
- Geocoding platform can be leveraged every day across B2C and B2B products
- Committed to failing fast, lean product development with continuous testing and learning, feeding iterative and solution-driven thinking
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, engage key stakeholders, and lead small cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to build & enhance data-driven products that turns into explosive business results (not sweating the small stuff)
- Preference for an undergraduate degree in engineering, GIS/geography, computer science, statistics, or mathematics
- 5+ years of experience or 3+ years with a graduate degree
