About the Position

WyzAnt is hiring a social media manager to help redefine the way people look at individualized learning. As a member of the Chicago tech startup scene, WyzAnt is searching for a social media superstar to help shape our content strategy and bring it to life across our social media channels. Charged with both the creation and execution of our social media strategy, this self-starter will be required to present high-level plans to company executives, yet be willing to roll up their sleeves and manage our social communities on a daily basis.

Reporting to the head of brand and communications, this role will work hand-in-hand with a soon-to-be-hired PR manager and members of the creative team, and build out a team over time as our social media presence grows.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop a social media strategy that ties in with the organization’s larger brand and content marketing goals and drive word of mouth
  • Oversee content and community management for all social platforms including – but not limited to – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram
  • Create and maintain a social media editorial calendar. This person will draft/source their own content, working with the creative team when necessary
  • Work with members of the acquisition team to build and analyze paid social campaigns
  • Work with the creative team to define the organization’s look, feel and tone on social channels
  • Monitor, measure and report out on social media activities, trends and campaign results
  • Create company-wide social media guidelines, and work with stakeholders across the company to convert WyzAnt students, instructors and employees into social brand ambassadors
  • Work with customer support team to develop and lead social care protocol
  • Work with WyzAnt’s network of more than 80,000 tutors to source content for the company blog and social media channels
  • Along with other members of the brand and communications team, develop integrated programs that engage current and prospective students


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising or journalism/communications required
  • 4-6 years of social media experience, a mix of agency and corporate background preferred, with experience in both B2B and B2C
  • Experience leading successful social media campaigns for a national company (be prepared to share details of campaign(s), including metrics)
  • Analytical chops. We are a data-driven organization, and you must be prepared to understand metrics and use them to refine strategy
  • Superior writing and editing skills
  • Team-first mentality. We’re a startup and a lean team - you must have a willingness to pitch in wherever and whenever you’re needed
  • Experience using social media monitoring and measurement tools
  • Working knowledge of html and photoshop a huge plus
  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment
