are currently seeking an IT Systems Support person to join our team! This position

will be based out of our headquarters located in Bay Minette, AL.

Job description

Quincy Compressor is looking for an

experienced IT professional to be responsible for the support and development

of its BPCS ERP system and other applications used within the business area.

This position has the following

responsibilities:

- Monitor the performance of the IT systems

and operations

- Monitor and manage error files- Diagnose

error messages and system commands

- Correct problems and notify users

- Evaluate system errors and request program

modifications to be made by the business area

- Support new BPCS change request and projects

- Act as liaison between local users and business

support to ensure satisfactory results from the users’ point of view

A close cooperation with CT-IS teams in other

global regions is required to make this function a success. At the start an

intensive training will be foreseen.

This position works closely with our global IT

support team and may require travel for training and to support our customers.

Experience requirements

The ideal candidate will have a good blend of

business and IT-technical skills. Specific requirements for this position

include:

Understanding of and experience with software

support processes

- A track record of proactively identifying solutions to both technology and

business issues

- Experience working in an environment requiring cooperation and negotiation

with other business units/IS organizations to attain goals

- Understanding of and experience with business systems including the ability

to analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.

- Experience with integration between business systems and other applications

- Understanding and experience with software development processes including

defining business requirements, defining technical specifications, and

development procedures, testing procedures, change management and

implementation

Knowledge of different business processes in

an industrial company and experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Knowledge/Educational requirements

A strong functional knowledge on a wide

variety of business processes is required in order to correctly assess the

impact and urgency of issues reported, hence organizing support activities

according to the right priorities.

Strong affinity and understanding of IT

applications.

A degree in Computer Science or IT related studies.

3- 5 years experience with BPCS systems required; Extensive experience with

BPCS (preferably version 6) and/or other major ERP systems.

Experience with iSeries Operations.
Strong knowledge of CL and RPG (4)/ILE programming languages is a must, others are a plus.
