Application Development Specialist

This Application Development Specialist will be responsible

for:

• Specifying, designing, developing, and maintaining elegant software solutions across all tiers and supporting needs of multiple projects
• Participating in code and design review with architects, technical leads and develop technical standards
• Supporting current operational software solutions
• Building and researching new technologies or development tools as applicable to project needs

• Bachelors in Computer Science or a closely related field
• 3-4 years of work experience demonstrating trong object-oriented design and development skills
• Experience in enterprise application development using Java and use of MVC frameworks, familiarity with ORM technologies
• Relational database experience (SQL)
• Web technologies like HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, (jQuery experience required, AngularJS and Node.JS is preferred)
• Working knowledge of RESTful / SOAP web services experience
• Mobile development experience in iOS or Android is preferred
• Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
• Interest in front end design also desired
• Experience in agile development

Accelerator team at Boston Children's Hospital is looking for an application developer with a passion towards software solutions and working with new digital technologies to address today’s challenges in healthcare. The person will build innovative enterprise software solutions that are applicable in clinical settings to deliver patient care and improve clinical workflows as well as develop consumer oriented digital health mobile solutions. The individual will report to the Director of Software Development and work closely with other members of the boarder team. This role provides an opportunity to learn about healthcare from the front lines of care delivery and leverage new emerging digital technologies like mobile devices, IoT, AR/VR in exploring ideas to innovate and disrupt traditional healthcare.
