IT Creations, a leading provider of enterprise IT hardware based in Chatsworth, CA is looking for a Systems Administrator. We are looking for someone who loves technology, computer gear and high performance topologies. We have a small data center used for our enterprise. We need a talented, curious, and capable person to make sure that all functions are running smoothly, updated and secure, and manage the day to day user administration functions.

JOB DUTIES:

The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual will participatein technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures empower IT Creations staff to be effective in performing their duties and adhere to organizational values.

This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases, including the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle.

The System Administrator’s daily tasks include system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups and security policies.

This individual is accountable for the following systems: VMware vSphere cluster; Windows Servers and Active Directory; VOIP telephony systems; DVR servers and cameras; Linux or others systems that support our infrastructure. Responsibilities on these systems include SA engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual operation & innovation.

  • VOIP and DVR experience a big plus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possessthe following knowledge/skill set:

  • Bachelor'sDegree in Computer Science, Engineering or another related field
  • Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in VMware and Microsoft
  • 3-5 years of system administration experience

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Availability to work overtime and some evenings/weekends as requested
  • Occasional travel
