Foundation Capital Content Director
At Foundation Capital we strive to be the firm we wanted when we were entrepreneurs. Part of this mission is not just supporting and building great companies, but sparking and introducing new ideas. To that end, Foundation Capital is looking for a rock star writer and content strategist to join our marketing team. The Content Director will be asked to work with our team to develop and provide creative, useful and authentic content that’s relevant to entrepreneurs and the tech community. The work will span a wide range of market sectors and topics, but, ideally, it will distill ideas in creative ways and communicate them in a way that cuts through the noise.
The perfect candidate for this job will feel comfortable managing and producing content for multiple voices and across multiple media and platforms.
This is a new role at Foundation Capital and we want whoever occupies it to help define it and make the most of it.
While the role is new, we already know that some of the responsibilities will include:
- Defining content strategy and roadmap, adjusting as necessary and communicating goals and plans regularly
- Creating original content across multiple technology sectors, voices and topics – from tweets to white-papers to videos
- Managing external content and design resources when applicable
- Collaborating with internal team members and external PR resources to distribute content
- Defining content distribution plans and goals and measuring against goals
- Developing event content and industry thought leadership pieces and the associated marketing and PR strategies
- Providing day to day management of multiple content ‘platforms’ -- whether it’s launching a new thought piece or keeping the drumbeat going an already developed theme.
- Collaborating with the rest of our marketing function on our social media and digital marketing strategy
- Breaking some glass with special creative projects we haven’t even thought of yet
- Consulting and aligning with our portfolio companies
A great candidate should have:
- Experience working in journalism, content marketing, marketing communications, brand or public relations
- A love of writing - because this job will entail lots and lots of writing and blogging
- Creative chops - graphic design, video production, web design or presentation design.
- Built a content strategy and executed against it
- Social media and/or digital marketing experience
- Demonstrated passion for technology, entrepreneurialism or start-ups
