Will evaluate materials and develop processes to manufacture materials for use in products that must meet specialized design and performance specifications. Specifically will perform Moldflow analysis on 3D CAD model to optimize client submitted designs to ensure optimal designs to fill mold cavity with molten plastic.

Will suggest design changes to increase effectiveness. Based on design modifications, will send out a mold RFQ specifications that the mold, once built, will need to achieve. On medical molds, will work through the validation protocol which is designed to ensure that any part that comes out of that mold in a production setting is within spec and also capable in a statistical sense.

Will support Production Floor in identifying root cause, and corrective action implementation of Production Related issues. Will support the Validation of new products into Production by running DOE’s, Process Capability Studies, Gauge R&R, Gate Seal-Off, and Material Viscosity Studies. May be required to maintain records of assigned project activities per the established Quality System.

As part of a team will use APQP Project Management tools, will advise management of any cost related issues for assigned projects and will make recommendations to optimize mold/part design as required.

Degree: MS degree in Materials Engineering or a Related Field.
