FiveStars is looking for a Head of Design to lead our enthusiastic team of experience designers. We are rethinking the way customers connect with and support their favorite businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading our talented team of designers to achieve their full potential, cultivating their talents and capabilities
  • Delivering a strategic and consistent end-to-end experience for our users throughout our complex product ecosystem
  • Infusing the product strategy and priorities with high impact, data-driven user-focused initiatives
  • Crafting innovative design processes optimized for our young, agile, and distributed company, including remote team members worldwide
  • Collaborating with partners in product management, marketing, operations, and other roles to ensure our product offering reflects our business goals, product values, and brand

Requirements:

  • Degree or certificate in design, psychology, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in user experience design
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Portfolio of design work that demonstrates design thinking and team collaboration, including demonstrated expertise with cross-platform, cross-device, and cross-persona design problems
  • Demonstrated design leadership and communication abilities with cross-functional and multi-functional teams
  • Demonstrated expertise in creative approaches to complex problem solving and the ability to help others craft this expertise
  • Expertise with a variety of user research methods; demonstrated understanding of the capabilities and limitations of various research methods
  • Proven ability to prioritize, delegate, and roll with the punches in a fast-paced, always changing environment
