UX Architect

Cox Automotive is hiring a UX Architect to collaborate with our vAuto R&D facility in Austin, TX.

As a UX Architect at Cox Automotive, you’ll be a key member in helping us reimagine the digital experience for the automotive industry. Your days will be filled collaborating with product architects and engineers to define product strategy, information architecture, user research, and usability testing to design better experiences and outcomes for our users.

UX Architects leverage their craft to identify user needs and opportunities into our digital products and applications. You’ll drive the evolution of User Experience for Cox Automotive through education, advocacy, and thought leadership. As a core member on an Agile team, the UX Architect leads the effort to design a better way for our customers to utilize our products in their day-to-day. You’ll be focused on improving our customer’s experiences by understanding their behaviors and needs, iterating on designs and socializing insights.

Your Role:

• Leads product user experience strategy; Researches, identifies and works directly with customers and consumers, using stakeholder interviews, competitive audits (business and UX) and user research to understand and validate product ideas
• Guides and educates product and engineering teams to have a higher understanding of UX best practices and techniques
• Defines the information architecture and interaction flow of applications
• Transform needs prioritized by business goals into testable questions
• Partner with user researchers on discovery and usability efforts
• Keeps abreast of industry developments and new technologies; designs and evaluates visual human interfaces using user-centered design principles
• Knows how to represent and address the user’s needs in a development cycle.
• Conduct surveys and interviews with internal team members, product experts, and external customers to inform product design and persona development, in conjunction with UX Researchers
• Analyzes usage data to understand if we are meeting business objectives.
• Presents findings, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes to key stakeholders and business partners.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of creating user-focused digital experiences
• Familiarity with Agile development process and Lean UX methodologies
• Comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Can translate insights from user studies and analytical data into meaningful actions
• Proven ability to gather and synthesize different types of usability research; surveys, A/B tests, user interviews, and usability tests

What we look for:

• Demonstrated ability to build UX advocates in cross-discipline teams
• Strong proficiency wire framing and prototyping software, as well as familiarity with front-end code and web / mobile-based environments
• A portfolio that shows your thought process and ability to ship user-centered products
• Versatility– experience designing cross-platform experiences (web, iOS, Android)
• Ability to deliver UX designs for multiple projects at the same time
• Excellent communication skills. Individual must be a proactive problem solver and able to handle multiple complex projects and tasks
• B2B software experience
• Bonus, if you have experience with Service Design
