Overview

IDA is actively recruiting for a junior level Programmer/Analyst to join our IT team.  We are looking for a capable, energetic software developer to join our dynamic team in the support of business process automation. You will enjoy working with state of the art technology in a number of critical business areas, such as human resources, business intelligence, security, collaboration, web portal design, business continuity, enterprise search, finance, etc. Either working individually or as part of a team, you will make a significant contribution on activities related to the design, development, implementation, integration and maintenance of complex application systems.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the IDA staff to identify, define and document the need for modification of an existing business system, or the development of a new system. With assistance develops and proposes cost effective solutions.
  • Maintains and develops custom IDA business systems under the guidance of a project leader.  Working from documented requirements, prepares design specifications; participates in design reviews; develops structured programs and systems; troubleshoots and corrects system problems; performs comprehensive unit and system testing; and prepares and maintains technical and user documentation per standard.
  • With the guidance of a project leader, maintains acquired systems. Acts as liaison between users and vendors for the installation and maintenance of new software releases and modifications.  Assists vendors in identifying and isolating problems, and installs and tests vendor updates and fixes.  Builds custom interfaces, if required, to provide connectivity with other IDA systems.
  • Complies with and fully supports configuration management principles and procedures in all software related activities.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related area; or equivalent experience.
  • One or more years of related work experience.
  • Experience with a modern, high-level programming language and one or more SQL based Relational Database Management Systems.
  • Experience with computers running recent versions of MS Windows.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearance.
