What is the opportunity?

As a Technical Systems Analyst with RBC Wealth Management you will, partner across IT and with assigned business line(s) to assess, research, and analyze business, technical and system needs in order to resolve business systems issues by recommending technology solutions that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs.

What will you do?

Provide Technical Leadership

  • Leads technical design activities and prepares technical specifications for small to large projects, identifying, tracking and resolving technical issues and ensuring solution meets sponsor needs and PLC deliverables
  • Develop, code, document and execute unit test, system, integration and acceptance test using different languages and testing tools for functions of high complexity
  • Provides input and co-ordinates with DBA in creating new and modifying existing database structures using different types of databases and recommending appropriate DB based on required functionality
  • Performs performance tuning to improve performance over multiple functions

Manage Development & Release Activities

  • Develops detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project
  • Manages the detail aspects of day-to-day operations, provides direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of more junior staff and 3rd party vendors

Application Planning & Technical Roadmap

  • Provides consulting services on new initiatives (small to large of varying complexity) and develops proposals for senior management based on emerging trends and/or best practices
  • Assesses, researches and analyzes business and system needs, exploring alternative options to recommend technology solutions and designs that meet sponsor needs and PLC deliverables including component reusability, data sharing and security

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 10+ years of development experience using: .NET Framework, Visual Studio, JavaScript , C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, MS SQL Server, SOAP, and REST Web Service
  • Extensive infrastructure knowledge: Windows Server, IIS, and other middleware technologies
  • Agile and/or DevOps experience and tools exposures such as GitHub, Jenkins, UrbanCode
  • Security knowledge: Well versed with SSL Certs and SSO authentication methodology
  • Ability to help manage releases for a highly complex environment and the ability to communicate both to technical and business resources

Nice-to-have

  • Exposure and interest in learning other technology stack (i.e. Java, Scheme, Python, UNIX, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of network architecture
  • Familiarity with mainframe system or integration with mainframe system
  • Talent Management process (recruitment/selection, performance management, performance development/coaching, reward/ recognition)
