Swift Navigation is looking for a product manager to lead product development of a positioning services and analytics platform powered by a real-time distributed sensor network that will run as services. You will work with a growing team to push the state of the art in precision positioning technology, making high accuracy positioning ubiquitous and easy to use across a wide variety of industries and applications in unmanned aerial vehicles, robotics, and autonomous transportation.
The ideal candidate will be the product manager for a suite of technical and multifaceted cloud services. Experience in analytics, SaaS, geographic informations systems, and product management will be the foundation for a successful candidate required. Candidates with highly technical backgrounds, experience in sensor networks/IoT, and providing offerings on cloud platforms are preferred.
Your job:
- Understand customers’ needs. Talk to customers and identify their needs. Write clear and concise product briefs and specifications, and collaborate with engineering to prioritize, build, and ship features.
- Learn the landscape. Understand where our products fit, competitive differentiators, and price accordingly. Work across teams and management to roadmap our data and web products.
- Manage the product. Account and be accountable for all stages of the product across the various teams. Define methods to quantify success (or failure) and ensure that the team can clearly understand, articulate, and meet its objectives.
- Communicate. Within the team, listen to and account for all concerns, ensure that priorities are clear, facilitate communication where necessary, then drive conversations to decisions in terms that all stakeholders understand. Outside the team, clearly articulate value proposition and differentiators for marketing product. Balance internal and external stakeholder requirements to ensure a quality product is always delivered.
- Make it work. This is not purely a strategy role: implementation is 90% of success.
Your experience:
- Strategy. Demonstrated ability to understand the market and competition and influence strategic priorities using evidence-based decisions.
- BA/BS (or higher) in a relevant technical field (e.g., computer science, geography), or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Flexibility and enthusiasm for learning technologies, tools, and ideas.
- Product Management. At least 2 years product management experience focused on developing technical, software, and data products at scale. It is highly desirable to have foundations in software as a service (SaaS) with a track record of successful product delivery from inception to launch.
- Demonstrated creativity in deal structures, B2B sourcing and partnerships and the ability to close deals. Preference for experience in wireless, networking, "big data", cloud, and SaaS.
We offer:
- Strong ownership over a new, highly-available, high-precision GPS positioning product targeting autonomous transportation, machine automation and robotics.
- Competitive salary and equity
- Flexible vacation policy
- 401(k), Medical, Dental, Vision benefits
- Sunny, bike-friendly office near the San Francisco Civic Center, close to public transit.
