PwC established New Ventures to invest in new business models that leverage our knowledge and build solutions for the growing digital market.
New Ventures identifies, develops, and commercializes technology-enabled solutions that deliver PwC value, knowledge, and experience to our clients. Each new solution focuses on data-driven platforms or other IP-based solutions that leverage emerging technologies and new business models. Through the process of building new solutions, we foster a culture of innovation within the Firm, extend brand relevance in the market, and generate new revenue.
The New Ventures Architecture team is responsible for the research, collaboration, and prototyping of products, solutions, and services for PwC New Ventures (NV).
The NV Solution Architect thinks strategically about business goals and objectives, creates technical definitions around customer objectives in complex situations, and develops solution strategies to meet customer needs. As a trusted advisor and mentor, the NV Solution Architect is a proactive self-starter who focuses on motivating teams and delivering results.
Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 8 with at least 5 years of experience in software development and rapid protoyping.
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
Degree Preferred: MBA in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
Knowledge Preferred:
Demonstrates thought leader-level knowledge with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in technology solutions, including the following areas:
- Cloud-ready architectures utilizing infrastructure and platform cloud services for AWS, GCP, or Azure;
- Event-driven and microservices architectures;
- Big Data / Analytics / AI tools;
- DevOps such as virtualization, automation, continuous integration;
- Mobile/Web architecture stacks;
- Polyglot Persistence such as RDBMS/NoSQL data stores and appropriate use cases;
- Rapid-prototyping workflows and development tools; and,
- Containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Skills Preferred:
Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in technology solutions, including the following areas:
- Leading rapid-prototyping efforts with new and emerging technologies leveraging agile/lean development techniques;
- Designing successful technical/integration architectures for large-scale platforms with a mix of 3rd party vendor, open-source, and custom software;
- Performing deep-dive technical assessments, architecture reviews, and feasibility analyses of large scale applications and software;
- Contributing and managing incubators/innovation lab environments and working with small teams across a variety of new and emerging technologies;
- Performing as a solution architect across all aspects of a technology solution including integration, data, services, front-end, back-end, network, deployment, scaling, security, performance, and development;
- Leveraging and performing extensive project management, multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization abilities;
- Demonstrating a specialization in verbal and written communication with the ability to translate between business and technical stakeholders as required to meet strategic program/project objectives;
- Working in a challenging and collaborative environment with small teams;
- Driving and using creative problem solving skills, emphasizing the ability to deliver workable solutions/designs under tight timeframes with limited budgets; and,
- Exhibiting a work modality that is open to new ideas and possessing a passion for learning and understanding new and emerging technologies, techniques and tools.
