Job Description
• Oversee technical aspects of a major program to refresh PNNL’s digital properties, including a redesign of pnnl.gov and the internal website
• Going forward, provide technical oversight of the PNNL webs and interacting, digital properties
• Fully transition PNNL to a state-of-the-art Content Management System (CMS)
• Analyze data on web activity and traffic patterns; recommend/implement changes in strategy or structure to improve audience impacts.
• Assure that all web and digital properties support each other and that web properties are optimized for mobile.
• Design, develop, and maintain PNNL web properties
• Fulfill “super-user” role for the content management system (CMS), managing users’ permissions and other technical properties
• Establish web processes and workflow, providing guidance and training for site contributors
• With PNNL’s Creative Director, ensure brand guidelines are followed
• Test, measure, track, and analyze site performance and experience with the goal of continually improving the site’s usability and visibility
• Perform regular site audits to ensure site performance and up-to-date content
• Act as an innovative, proactive thinker, and advisor to the business regarding digital marketing, development, and use of expanded web/digital technologies; coordinate the use of these new technologies across PNNL
• Support other team members and communications colleagues to produce web performance reports
• Coordinate with IT and with 3rd party vendors for feature development and on-going CMS support
• Ensure the site is in compliance with WCAG standards and any other necessary requirements
• Maintain competence with the latest site and web trends to ensure PNNL web and digital properties are operating at peak performance and delivering the highest possible impact to the organization
• Manage ongoing SEO updates to pages
• Manage and facilitate CMS training
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and 5+ years of experience in progressive web development/digital roles OR An advanced degree plus 2+ years of experience
• Demonstrated experience supporting a multi-tiered corporate website, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, CMS systems, and mobile integration/optimization
• Demonstrated expertise building a digital ecosystem of supporting web and social media properties
• Familiarity with implementing enterprise level SEO strategies
• Familiarity with Google Analytics and other Google Tools
• Demonstrated experience producing accurate and detailed work on multiple projects under time pressure
• Demonstrated experience in sharing information and collaborating with others
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and work experience and 6+ years of experience in progressive web development/digital roles
• Knowledge of strategic communications principles
• Familiarity with Project Management Principles
• Experience managing timelines, dependencies, deliverables, milestones and resource allocation
• Experience discussing complex business and technology issues with business users and customers
• Experience with research techniques, analysis, critical thinking, problem solving, and making solid business decisions
