Senior Full Stack Developer

Among other responsibilities, you'll be taking a leadership role on architecting and building features on existing web and mobile applications as well as architecting and building new applications and microservices from the ground up.

Although we primarily build in Rails, Node and React, we’ll be turning to you to propose development of new features, microservices, and applications in the technologies that you think are best suited for the problems being solved. 

Your Responsibilities will include some array of the following:

• Build new features on various web and mobile applications 
• Architect and build new web applications, mobile applications, and microservices that are required 
• Make recommendations and play an active role in the decision making process around technologies to be used for new applications and improvements on existing applications 
• Scale, maintain and improve various existing codebases and systems infrastructures 
• Maintain and improve the development, staging and production environments of various applications 
• Play an active role in project planning and management 
• Participate in peer code reviews 
• Mentor junior & intermediate developers on programming and infrastructure best practices 
• Contribute to ongoing improvement of engineering practices and procedures 
• Roles and responsibilities within the team will vary depending on your experience 

Requirements: 

• Minimum 5-7 years Experience with some subset of our primary tech stack: Ruby on Rails, Node, React (or other Javascript frameworks), Postgres, Redis 
• Minimum 3-5 years experience deploying and managing staging and production environments on Heroku and AWS 
• Minimum 3-5 years experience with some subset of Swift, Java, Python, R and/or C++ 
• Minimum 2 years experience working with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.) 
• Minimum 3-5 years experience working with some subset of AWS services, such as: EC2, RDS, ElasticBeanstalk, Lambda, Cloudwatch, SQS, Kinesis and SNS 
• Experience developing mobile applications in React Native is a plus 
• Experience with Elastic search (or another lucene based datastore) is an asset 
• Experience with log aggregation software, such as Sumologic, is an asset 
• Experience working on big-data applications is a plus 
• Ability to communicate fluently in English.
