Basic Function of the Position: To contribute to the strategy, operations and growth of CTA’s California office. 

 

Critical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Director of CA office in successfully establishing a strong west coast presence for CTA.
  • Coordinate west coast CTA member engagement and recruitment meetings and events.
  • Lead new member onboarding for the CA office, and regularly engage new members in CTA activities and events.  
  • Work to expand the member and CES prospect database depth through industry research.
  • Work with the Director of CA office to arrange industry meetings between west coast technology companies and executives from CTA Headquarters.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all CTA initiatives and communicate them effectively in order to educate prospects and members about CTA benefits and CES. 
  • Work with division managers to identify and cultivate new individuals to serve on boards, working groups, councils and committees to develop new ways to deepen member company engagement in the association.
  • Provide timely and exceptional customer service to prospects and members by phone, email, in-person and video meetings.
  • Update CTA systems with information on interactions with CTA members, CES exhibitors and prospects.
  • Travel as needed to recruit new CTA members and CES exhibitors, and promote involvement in CTA programs.
  • Serve as the office manager for the California office.
  • Perform other duties as required by business needs.

Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in administrative, business development and event management preferred 
  • Previous experience in marketing, events or technology industry community engagement preferred

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or related field preferred or commensurate experience

Skills/Capabilities/Technical:

  • Seeking excellent communicator, with customer/team orientation and the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all staff levels 
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to implement a strategic vision
  • Problem solver with demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and analyze new ideas and concepts
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
  • Must be able to maintain a consistent presence in the office and regularly attend scheduled out-of-office meetings and events, likely to include some evenings and weekends
  • Event planning experience preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce or other databases preferred
  • Ability to be onsite at trade show(s) and remain in a stationary position or traverse the show area several hours a day for days at a time stand/walk for 3-5 days at a time
  • Frequently moves office and trade show items and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds
