TechCrunch is currently looking for a mid to senior level Marketing Manager on the Audience Development team. The position is located at the TechCrunch offices in San Francisco.  

The main goal of the position is to develop and execute a consumer marketing plan for an upcoming product launch. We’re looking for someone that has 5-10 years of experience in marketing, with a solid background in media subscription products. Qualified candidates should also have experience in social media advertising, newsletter marketing, and/or SEM.   

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute consumer marketing plan for the launch of subscription product.

  • Help drive end-to-end subscriber experience. Identify which parts of the subscription tier are providing the most value to readers.

  • Support consumer marketing campaigns to grow subscriptions across all channels and touchpoints. Manage creative development and delivery of subscriber growth campaigns on social media, newsletters, search, and on TechCrunch.com.

  • Become a voice of the subscriber community by developing deep insights about members and competitors to help shape marketing strategy. Develop core positioning and key messages to help differentiate product. Research and provide data on new opportunities that could be added to subscription to improve value.

  • Coordinate with events team to design and launch subscriber events. Work with events team to develop and launch subscriber benefits for attendees at Disrupt SF and Disrupt Berlin.  

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 5-10 years of experience in marketing

  • 3+ years of experience with consumer marketing or product launch marketing or subscription marketing

  • 2+ years of experience with subscription products

  • 2+ years of experience with newsletter marketing, SEM, or social media advertising

  • Passion for tech and the startup scene

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Candidates with the following will be preferred

  • Experience with subscriber management tool Piano

  • Familiarity with publisher analytics tools like Parse.ly and Chartbeat
