The American Wind Energy Association seeks a mid to senior-level .NET (C# / ASP.net) Database Developer to design, develop, install and maintain information systems.

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary development resource for main corporate database and related data integrations
  • Develop software solutions for AWEA’s applications, web assets and data integrations
  • Manage the “big picture” by analyzing the organization’s needs, meet with users and study our systems/data/procedures
  • Document all requirements, design specifications, work flows and code comments
  • Maintain a secure software environment that protects AWEA’s intellectual property and data
  • Software license management
  • Analytics development
  • Update job knowledge by studying new development tools and techniques
  • Data integrity development
  • Report Analysis and Design
  • Assist in the systems administration for all software solutions, some of which include:
    • AMS (association management system) database
    • CMS (content management system)
    • Email marketing system
    • Online community platform
    • Webinar platform
    • Blog engine
  • Technology vendor management
  • Assist in network related tasks when needed
  • Provide general IT helpdesk support to the staff as needed

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

AWEA is a collaborative workplace. The individual must be willing and able to work constructively as a part of a team, while also demonstrating timely follow through on individual tasks. The Database Developer is likely to interact frequently with both AWEA team leaders and team members and excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to respond quickly and professionally to inquiries. Managing priorities and timelines across all departments are critical. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proactive planning, consistent support, and detailed documentation to high professional standards and be extremely organized with experience developing using these tools / languages:  C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, database objects (e.g. triggers, stored procedures, functions, etc.), T-SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Services and SharePoint.

 

AWEA is a fast-paced, high-energy organization with a very ambitious agenda a staff that is highly motivated.  This job may experience high work demands under tight timelines.  Occasional travel, weekend and extended hours will be required.

 

Education and/or Experience

AWEA is seeking applicants whom reflect and understand our core values: We HEART Wind Energy, The Truth Prevails, Together We Succeed, and Ahead of the Curve.  BS in information technology or related field or equivalent academic and work experience is required.  In addition, incumbent must have 5 or more years of software development, preferably in a nonprofit organization.  Experience in developing, using:  C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, database objects (e.g.  triggers, stored procedures, functions, etc.), T-SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Services and SharePoint is a must; developing tools / languages such as:  Cold Fusion, Dot Net Nuke, PHP, CMS Plus, Personify, Access, VMWare and the Linux operating system is a plus.
