The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), America’s first superhighway, is seeking an individual to join our Information Technology team as an Information Security Officer! Our mission is to operate a safe, reliable, customer-valued toll road system that supports national mobility and commerce.  The PTC operates a 552-mile system used by 194 million vehicles a year.  The Information Security Officer is responsible for establishing and maintaining an enterprise-wide information security and risk program to ensure that information technology assets are adequately protected.  Together, we are building the highway of the future! 

  Responsibilities 

  • Directs a comprehensive enterprise security and risk program which includes implementing and overseeing the governance, assessment, consulting, monitoring and reporting functions.
  • Monitors the external environment for potential emerging threats, evaluates technical controls, advises and makes recommendations to relevant stakeholders for appropriate courses of action. Leads regular vulnerability assessments of internal systems and external vendors.
  • Develops and implements system resiliency, disaster recovery and other information security policies, standards and procedures in accordance with applicable industry laws and other PTC policies.
  • Develops implementation plans and procedures to ensure the business-critical services are recovered in the event of a security event. Directs the action reviews of major IT security and risk events impacting the enterprise and leads efforts to address negative findings. Serves as a 24/7 on-call/area commander for emergency situations.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or business administration.  Equivalent combination of experience, education and training will be considered.

  • Eight (8) years of experience information technology experience with and emphasis in information security, risk management or project/program management.  Must have three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.

  • Valid driver’s license.

The position is located at the PTC’s headquarters in Middletown, PA, right outside of Pennsylvania’s capital city.  The Central PA region has plenty to offer from picturesque scenery to premier entertainment, while residents enjoy an affordable cost of living.  It is conveniently located within a few hours’ drive of popular metropolitan areas such as Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C. and New York City. 

There is a Pennsylvania residency requirement, which must be fulfilled within six months of employment
