Do you speak geek? Manning Publications has been teaching technical topics to software professionals for over two decades, and we believe our books and videos are the best in the business. We’re looking for a marketing specialist who can promote our uniquely valuable products to developers, administrators, and other IT pros around the globe.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing and improving a complete digital marketing program that includes a very active email list, social media, the manning.com web store, and a network of authors, reviewers, and Manning fans.
We require an experienced marketer who can write interesting and effective copy, engage customers and technical communities on social media, and use Google Analytics and other data to expand our brand, increase loyalty, and meet aggressive sales goals.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Write engaging product descriptions and marketing copy that connects to our technical readers
Develop and manage email and social media marketing campaigns
Use data and research to optimize usability, design, content, and sales
Cultivate partnerships with technical communities, software companies, and service providers
Introduce to the market two innovative product lines with some unusual features.
Measure and report on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns
Communicate with our management about marketing goals and results
Keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing
Skills and Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on, technical experience and proven expertise in SEO, PPC, digital advertising, creative campaign development, email marketing, content marketing, and conversion optimization with website and marketing programs
Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Adwords, WordPress and other marketing tools
Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing
Self-starter able to multi-task and ready to work in a fast-paced, remote environment. (It gets crazy over here.)
Excellent writing skills (We want to see samples!)
