Green Bits was founded by engineers with experience crafting global accounting software with complex compliance requirements.

In 2014, we started working with recreational marijuana retailers on a focused mission: develop a point-of-sale product that matches their unique workflows and business demands, from seed-to-sale tracking, to long checkout lines, to customer sales limits and complex inventory batch tracking.

The role:

We are seeking a well-rounded Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who has a passion for working on complex systems. The right candidate for this position will have good communication as well as technical skills and will work hard to maximize customer satisfaction. The ability to work with cross-functional teams in a rapidly growing environment is important. 

Our ideal candidate has:

  • At least 5 years of relevant overall experience.
  • A background with distributed systems, databases and performance analysis.
  • Hands-on experience in Linux system administration.
  • Excellent scripting skills for debug and automation (Python knowledge is a plus).
  • Experience in coding and debugging in one or more of the following: Java, C, Javascript.
  • Server hardware troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills.

You will:

The candidate will be responsible for resolving customer issues, monitoring health of customer clusters and making sure services are always available without problems. This person will have to be available on support 24/7 on a rotational basis. He/She will actively contribute to internal and external knowledge bases. Responsibilities sometimes require writing tools and scripts to solve customer issues and/or improve support infrastructure. The candidate will also interface with clients and key stakeholders on a regular basis.
