The role:

The VP of Engineering will be responsible for bringing the Guardhat product from its current design state to market. This includes overseeing all technical aspects of the Guardhat product development, selection of appropriate technical architectures and technologies and directing internal hardware and software teams as well as external technical partners.

You will be doing:

• Responsible for all aspects of product development, product delivery and the entire program execution.

• Review designs and contribute directly when required.

• Be accountable and report to Executive team for product quality, development velocity, hiring and organization design of engineering team, build vs buy decisions.

• Provide leadership to hardware (mechanical and electrical) and software teams in a fashion that supports Guardhat’s culture, mission and values.

• Further build up the Guardhat technical team which may include adding resources from your own personal network.

Our ideal candidate is/has:

• At least 2 major product launches under his/her belt – from design to launch should have played a key role in that success (preferably products for HAZLOC or medical applications).

• Strong Electrical and Systems Engineering background, good understanding of embedded software

• Experience designing Wireless based devices (preferably Android devices) and working with complexities of multiple antenna products such as WiFi, BLE, Zigbee, UWB.

• Ability to think and act strategically and lead small agile teams in new product development settings.

• Willing to roll sleeves up all the way to managing extended global teams to deliver product.

• Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate technical employees.

• Access to existing network of technical talent and partners to accelerate product development process.

• Comfortable with working in a diverse, global and fast paced environment.
