As the Director of Sales you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of hunters in our OnDemand vertical market, focused on growing a new business venture for Sterling Talent Solutions in the rapidly growing GIG Economy space. Working among star engineers, UX designers, Product Managers and Solution Consultants in a fast-paced technology environment, you’ll help shape the go to market strategy and pipeline that will deliver significant YOY revenue growth.

The successful candidate is a strong leader with the ability to influence, inspire, motivate and develop others and is unafraid of getting into the trenches with the team.

As the Director of Sales, you will work closely with the SVP of Sales and EVP of Ventures, while driving the tactical and strategic direction of a vertical sales team. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of skilled sales professionals and positively drive them to surpass their targets, as well as maintain your own pipeline and book of business.

Job Description:

The Director of Sales will be ultimately responsible for motivating a sales team and meeting an overall team quota. This position will ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment, and management of sales personnel. This position will also include some face to face interaction with potential clients as you will have your own target quota. Other essential job functions include:

  • Lead and coach a team of hunters to drive revenue in a new vertical market to reach target quotas
  • Prospect, and cultivate leads using Sterling's database and other methods to develop relationships that will result in sales presentations and meet your personal target quota
  • Master problem solver who can understand and articulate complex software integrations and platforms
  • Build and manage relationships throughout the sales cycle to upsell services in an assigned territory
  • Provide the team with coaching and mentoring on both sales performance and standard of service provided
  • Review and analyze market data to develop and implement own business plan and utilize company resources to maximize sales effectiveness
  • Assess potential of prospects and develop strategies and presentation accordingly
  • Understand our client/prospects’ organizational dynamics and probe to discover needs and key decision makers
  • Perform analysis of prospect’s business processes and design solutions that best meet customer requirements
  • Develop and deliver technical sales presentations, proposals, and advice to your sales team
  • Articulate complex concepts and business solutions clearly through demonstrations and proposals
  • Coordinate processes with internal, external and/or third parties when necessary
  • Participate in regular structured sales & training programs to improve sales performance
  • Other duties as assigned

Proven track record of success, consisting of:

  • Exceptional team leadership experience with exceptional skills pertaining to mentoring and coaching others
  • Excellent communication skills- ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and written. Writing skills need to be particularly strong.
  • Successful record of selling enterprise solutions to the Fortune 1000 (including proposals, presentations and complex/ lengthy sales cycles)
  • Effectively communicate with senior level decision makers in organizations worldwide
  • Aggressive attitude in developing new accounts and building personal relationships
  • Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to develop great relationships with clients, fellow staff members and other professionals.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence at all levels within the organization (internally & externally)
  • Superior client facing interaction skills together with negotiation tactics
  • Computer literacy requirements: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Excellent organization skills
  • The ability to give client presentations and win business

Experience:

  • 3+ years’ sales leadership experience with a demonstrated history of sales success, consistent overachievement of quota and revenue goals, and accomplishment in prior positions.
  • 5+ years SaaS sales experience
  • Overall understanding of the Background Screening Industry, including the competitive landscape is a plus
  • Knowledge of the Sterling Platforms, technical and operating specifications preferred
  • Team management experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of HR Solutions preferred

Education:

Four year college degree from an accredited university preferred
