The Role in Brief:

Corporate Strategy and New Product Development is responsible for defining the firm’s growth strategy and developing new products and services—organically or via partnerships and acquisitions. In helping to fuel the growth engine of a high-growth company, the department enjoys close partnership with EAB’s executive team as well as key division leaders across the firm. The Education Advisory Board seeks an entrepreneurial and forward-thinking Associate Principal to help lead the product development and go-to-market strategy around a key expansion area of EAB's Student Success Management System. 

The opportunity is based in our Washington, D.C. office.  

Specific Responsibilities:
- Develop the work plan for and execute product development or partner due diligence projects 
- Identify and size potential market opportunities
- Conduct rigorous testing
- Assess competitive pressures
- Perform proforma analyses
- Support product scoping and development, including building wireframes and concepts
- Steward internal approval process
- Devise marketing and sales strategies
- Support and lead initial sales engagements
- Drive initial product delivery

Associate Principals will also support development and refinement of the company’s overall growth strategy:
- Conduct strategic analyses to determine attractive product development and business development terrains
- Expand the firm’s knowledge base in emerging terrains
- Consistently develop and evaluate new business opportunities/ideas/potential partner companies

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum five years of professional experience
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and defining/meeting deadlines
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and external partners
- Experience conducting root-cause analysis and generating insights
- Experience with solution focused problem solving and thinking through problems creatively

Ideal Qualifications: 
- MBA or other advanced degree 
- Experience managing complex processes and operations
- Experience managing and coaching more junior team members 
- Prior experience in sales and commercial pursuits, especially in B2B frameworks
- Prior experience working with product design and engineering teams
- Prior experience leading innovation and change
- Prior experience in the education sector
