The Role:

Mindstrong is looking for a stellar and passionate Senior Android Developer to work on Android mobile apps.  You’ll be working across multiple teams from platform engineers to designers and data scientists.  You’ll be helping to redesign Mindstrong’s mobile apps to delight users while transparently capturing the human-computer interaction patterns that drive the Mindstrong platform.  

Your work will support AI algorithms that identify patterns of brain activity from human-computer interactions and predict the impact that different interventions have on neuropsychological function.

• Top notch development skills; technical challenges of all types excite you and you are passionate about your work
• An interest in contributing opinions and perspective to help the team solve the challenges that users face
• Expertise in Java and React
• Experience in writing multi-threaded asynchronous code
• Experience with capturing sensor data (accelerometer, gyroscope, gps)
• Experience with camera capture and camera api
• Experience with Android accessibility framework is desirable
• Two or more published Android apps in the Play store
• Excellent knowledge of the mobile landscape, architectures, trends and emerging technologies
• Proven track record of delivering on tight schedules
• An entrepreneurial spirit; you thrive in a start-up, fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• BS/MS in computer science or related technical field with 5+ years of software engineering experience in industry

You Will:

• Design and implement major pieces of functionality in Android apps
• Interface with internal and external design teams to translate UX and visual designs into application code.
• Champion quality and testing standards within the team.
• Collaborate with QA team in implementing and maintaining test automation.
• Interface with platform team to optimize app communication and security.
• Continuously discover, evaluate and implement new technologies or services to maximize development efficiency
