Programmer Analyst Sr - Python/Hive Environment

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Perform analysis of requirements for development of complex clinical data extracts

- Consult with content or domain experts (e.g., clinical researchers, physicians, etc.) on development of inclusion/exclusion criteria for research extracts or analyses

- Collaborate with biostatisticians on development of complex analytic pipelines

- Work with other informatics staff to develop new clinical analytic approaches

- Develop complex programs (e.g., python, SQL, MapReduce) for clinical analytics

- Support data processing environments (e.g., Hadoop, SQL, etc.)

- Write documentation and narrative to support dissemination of developed methodologies

- Perform data quality analyses

Minimum Education/Experience:

Required: Bachelors Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education

Preferred: Masters Degree

Specify Degree(s): Computer Science, Biological Sciences, Programming and/or Application

Required: 6-10 years of previous job-related experience

- Relevant health informatics certifications

Computer Skills:

- Programming – python (required), MS SQL (required), Java, pearl, ColdFusion, C, R, SAS, bash scripting

- Good knowledge of xml, web sevices (SOAP, REST, etc.)

- Working knowledge of Linux, Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce

- Environments – Cloudera, Hortonworks, etc.

- Knowledge of clinical environments (EMRs, CDW) – Epic, Cerner, etc.

Qualifications:

- BA/BS in relevant fields and 6+ years experience (required)

- MS in relevant fields and 5+ years experience (preferred)
